From 165 SEK per hour after RUT, the Swedish tax deduction for household services, which we take off the invoice directly. The price depends on how many hours you book, not on where you live. No sign-up fees, no lock-in period, and an exact price before you decide.

One or two children cost the same. Specific requirements, for example about age, experience or a driving licence, mean a higher salary for the nanny and therefore a higher hourly rate. RUT applies to children up to and including age 12, capped at 75,000 SEK per person and year.

A gross salary of 150 SEK per hour costs the employer 215 SEK before a single administrative cost is counted. That is why the market sits at 300 to 400 SEK before RUT, and why a price that looks too good almost always means someone else is paying: the nanny, or you yourselves the day something goes wrong.

04 · Common questions about price

Questions and answers

How much does a nanny from Happy Nanny cost?

From 165 SEK per hour after the RUT deduction. Occasional sessions cost 199 SEK per hour, full time at 40 hours a week from 165 SEK, and in between the hourly rate depends on how many hours you book. Salary, employer contributions and holiday pay are included.

Why is there no single fixed price?

Because the nanny’s salary is our biggest cost, and it depends on how much she works for you. More hours mean a lower hourly rate. If you have specific requirements, for example about the nanny’s age, experience or driving licence, we need to pay a higher salary, and the hourly rate goes up. You get an exact price at the free first meeting, before you decide.

Does it cost extra per child?

One or two children cost the same. From the third child, add 20 SEK per hour per child. If you have more children than one nanny can reasonably manage, we book two nannies, and two hourly rates apply.

Does childcare qualify for the RUT deduction?

Yes. 50 percent of the labour cost, up to 75,000 SEK per person and year, for children up to and including age 12. Payment must be made electronically. We take it off the invoice directly.

Is there a lock-in period?

No. You are not tied in for any period. We go through notice periods and cancellation rules at the first meeting and write them into the agreement.

How do we pay?

By invoice in arrears, with the RUT deduction already taken off. Payment must be electronic, by bank transfer or card, never cash, for the deduction to apply.
